Little Learners - Home from Home!
Through our highly resourced Early Years and Year 1 classrooms, the physical environment becomes the ‘third teacher’. The children have access to natural resources, in both the inside and outside classrooms; including loose parts, large scale construction, cable drums and crates, wooden planks, malleable materials and real-life utensils in our dedicated mud kitchen. Multisensory play areas inspire imaginative play, and STEAM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) is an integral aspect to the curriculum.
Qualified Early Years Teachers lead our Nursery department, supported by experienced and qualified Key Workers. Full-time Teachers and Teaching Assistants are allocated to all Reception and Year 1 classes. This high adult-child ratio enables small focused group, paired, and one to one learning to take place; allowing children to be supported in developing their thoughts and ideas, through a process of inquiry and building upon previous skills and experiences.
